What are the differences between a swamp cooler (also known as evaporative cooler) and an air conditioner? The first difference is the cooling technology. ACs use refrigerants that can be harmful to the environment and harmful to your health if the AC is not maintained properly or has a manufacturing defect. By contrast, swamp coolers simply evaporates water to cool down the environment. It is natural, clean, and safe.
The second difference is in the amount of energy consumption. Evaporative air coolers use a small fraction of the energy that is used by air conditioning units, lowering your utility costs. The third difference is that air conditioners are not the best in dry climates since they dry out the air and can make your skin feel even dryer in an already dry climate. By contrast, swamp coolers add moisture to the air, allow you to keep the windows open, and allow you to put the swamp cooler indoors or outdoors.
The fourth difference is noise. Swamp coolers tend to be much quieter than AC units are. This is a huge plus for productivity and those who are sensitive to noise. The fifth difference is the cost. Swamp coolers tend to be less expensive than AC units are that cool the same amount of space. Maintenance costs on the swamp coolers tend to be simpler and less expensive than air conditioners as well.
Hotsy of Las Vegas and Hotsy of Henderson offer several models of swamp coolers for business and commercial use. The smallest model, Cool-Space® 200, can quickly cool up to 800 square feet. The Cool-Space® 300 can quickly cool up to 1,200 square feet. The Cool-Space®400 can quickly cool up to 3,600 square feet. The Cool-Space®500 can quickly cool up to 6,500 square feet.
The swamp coolers we carry utilize an innovative cooling media that is GreenGuard Gold certified. Not only does it optimize cooling speed and energy efficiency, it prevents problematic algae growth on the cooling media. This unique design prevents dirt and particles from penetrating the cooling media, reducing your maintenance costs and utility costs. The large, internal water reservoirs allow hours of cooling without being connected to a water source.
